The Stone Axe is your first tool-weapon in valheim, crafted from Wood and Stone before you even have a Workbench. It chops down trees for Wood and doubles as a starter melee weapon dealing slash and chop damage. Upgrade to the Flint Axe and then bronze axes as soon as you can, but the Stone Axe is how every run begins.
