The Black Metal Axe is the strongest one-handed axe before the Mistlands, forged from Black Metal. It hits hard with slash damage and, like all axes in valheim, has a chop stat that lets it cut down trees. Paired with a shield it is a fast, capable melee option, and it doubles as your harvesting tool, including the Yggdrasil Shoots you need once you reach the Mistlands.
