Padded Armor is the top armor tier before the Mistlands. It is crafted from Iron and Linen Thread, which you make from Flax grown in the Plains and spun at a Spinning Wheel.
When to Build It
You need a Spinning Wheel (from Moder's Dragon Tears) and a Plains foothold to farm Flax, so Padded is a Plains-era upgrade. Once you have it, it is the best protection available until Mistlands Carapace gear.
Padded has no elemental bonus, so keep a set of Wolf armor or Frost meads for cold Mountain trips.
