Base Building
Construction in Dragonwilds: building a base, placing stations, and what a bed actually buys you.

- First build
- Crafting table
Building is driven by the Construction skill, and the first thing you ever build is the crafting table in the tutorial, from four ash logs.
Where you put the base matters more than how it looks, for one specific reason: Home Teleport, added in 1.0, returns you to your bed on a 900 second cooldown. A bed sitting at the edge of the region you are currently working through saves far more time than a scenic one back in Temple Woods.
The stations are the other half. Artisan gear, Cooking and Runecrafting all want their own workspace, and Superheat at 20 Artisan speeds up every processing station you own, which is a strong argument for consolidating them under one roof rather than scattering camps.
1.0 also sped up loading for large builds, which had been one of the longest-standing complaints from early access. The next content update, Luminance, lands in December 2026 and brings Prifddinas-themed building kits, which is the first set of elven materials in the game.
