A dedicated server is the best setup for a long Windrose co-op world because friends can join without relying on a single player's normal game session. Early Access server tools are still limited, so plan around basic hosting and configuration rather than full admin control.
Current Server Reality
Windrose has dedicated server tooling through Steam, but traditional in-game admin commands are not a mature feature yet. Server setup relies on generated configuration files and invite-code connection flow.
What To Configure
After first launch, check the server description and world description files created by the tool. Use those files for server name, connection details, and world-level settings where available.
Hosting Advice
Back up the world before patch days, keep configuration changes documented, and avoid promising players admin powers that do not exist yet.
