A good Windrose base is less about a huge fortress and more about flow. You want to land, unload, craft, repair, eat, and leave without running laps through a messy building.
Base Layout
Build near the coast. Put dock access, storage, workstations, and food in a tight triangle. Keep decorative rooms separate from the working route so co-op players do not block each other during prep.
Expansion
Once you have fast travel and more routes, create smaller outposts instead of one oversized home that is far from everything.
