Tartaglia (Childe) is an aggressive Hydro DPS. His Skill swaps him into Melee Stance, where his normal and charged attacks deal continuous Hydro and apply the Riptide debuff, and swapping out or using his Burst triggers a large Riptide blast. His constant Hydro application makes him a premier reaction driver.
How to Play
Build him in a Vaporize or international team with off-field Pyro and Anemo support to convert his steady Hydro into reactions. He stays a strong carry on the Genshin tier list.
Best Build
Top Weapons: Polar Star (signature), Aqua Simulacra, The Stringless. Artifact Set: Heart of Depth (4-piece), or Nymph's Dream. Main Stats: ATK% Sands / Hydro DMG Goblet / CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet. Substats: CRIT Rate/DMG, ATK%, ER.
Best Teams
- International: Childe + Xiangling + Bennett + Kaedehara Kazuha.
- Mono Hydro/Taser: Childe + Yelan + Xingqiu + Kaedehara Kazuha.
Kit Overview
- Skill enters Riptide melee stance, turning his attacks into rapid Hydro strikes that apply Riptide.
- Burst deals a big Hydro nuke and detonates Riptide marks, refunding cooldown in melee stance.
- Core loop: an on-field Hydro carry applying Riptide to enable powerful Vaporize and reaction combos.
Pros and Cons
Pros: Flexible Hydro driver, strong Vaporize nukes, enables National comps. Cons: Long stance cooldown punishes mistakes, needs solid ER for burst rotations.
