DNA evolution is a new survival system, originally cut from the first game and brought back for the sequel. Using a bio-sampler, you alter your own genetic code to adapt your body to extreme depths and hostile conditions, opening up parts of the ocean that would otherwise be off-limits. It is a core part of how you progress deeper.
