Copper is the resource that unlocks early progression, because it is the core of the Basic Battery and the wiring that every powered tool depends on. You will not run a Scanner or Flashlight without it. It clusters on cave walls, ceilings, and underhangs rather than the open seabed, so check the rock faces of the early biomes. Pick singles by hand, break nodes for three, or use the Sonic Resonator on a deposit for five.
