ZZZ 3.1 Best Teams Tier List: The Comps Clearing Shiyu and Deadly Assault

The Version 3.1 anniversary patch reshuffled the Zenless Zone Zero meta around Remielle's Lumiflux Anomaly core and Sigrid's Ice burst. Here are the best team comps in ZZZ right now, ranked by how reliably they clear the hardest endgame.

Table of Contents

If you only want the headline: the strongest team in Version 3.1 is Remielle plus Velina plus a universal Support, and the strongest thing you can do as a returning player is stop chasing every new Agent and finish one of the four cores below. ZZZ has never rewarded a wide roster over a complete team, and 3.1 is no exception.

This is a team tier list, not an Agent tier list. Which unit is "best" matters less than which three fit together, so the rankings here are about comps and how reliably each one clears the endgame that actually gates rewards: Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. For where each individual Agent lands, the full ZZZ tier list is the companion to this page.

Every comp still obeys the one rule ZZZ is built on: an engine (Stun or Anomaly), a carry, and a Support. If that shape is unfamiliar, read the team roles primer first, then come back for the patch-specific verdicts.

S-tier: the comps that trivialize endgame

These clear current Shiyu and Deadly Assault with margin, on reasonable investment, without needing a whitewhale account.

Remielle Lumiflux Disorder

Remielle + Velina + Astra Yao (or another buffer). The defining team of the anniversary patch. Remielle is the first Lumiflux Anomaly Agent, and her damage comes from a reaction core she shares with Velina: the two of them cycle a new anomaly loop that pays out far more than a single-element Anomaly carry does alone. Slot Astra Yao as the universal Support and you have a team that ramps fast, sustains its own damage window, and does not care much about enemy positioning. If you pulled the anniversary headliner, this is your best team, full stop. It is also the reason Remielle sits at the top of the current banner verdicts.

Sigrid Ice burst

Sigrid + Qingyi + Nicole (or Astra Yao). Sigrid de L'Azur is a rhythm-based Ice carry built on her Knight's Focus mechanic: she wants a clean, long Stun window and rewards you for executing her loop rather than mashing. Qingyi is the ideal Stunner because she front-loads Daze and holds the enemy still, and Nicole shreds Defense while batteries Sigrid's energy. This comp lives or dies on hitting the Stun window cleanly, but when it does, it is the highest single-target ceiling among the Attack carries this patch.

Classic Disorder (element-agnostic)

Jane Doe + Tsukishiro Yanagi + Burnice White. The evergreen dual-Anomaly team is still S-tier and still the best value for accounts that missed the new units. Two Anomaly carries of different elements trigger Disorder repeatedly, and Burnice's off-field Fire application keeps the reaction wheel spinning. It is forgiving, it scales on flat Anomaly Proficiency rather than pull depth, and it clears everything current. If you want one team that will not fall out of the meta next patch, build this one. The full breakdown lives in the Anomaly and Disorder teams guide.

A-tier: strong, patch-proof, slightly more demanding

Fully endgame-capable. These ask for a bit more investment, a bit more execution, or a specific Bangboo to hit their ceiling.

  • Miyabi Frost Anomaly (Hoshimi Miyabi + Soukaku + Lycaon or Caesar). Miyabi blends Ice and Anomaly into a Frostburn hybrid that punishes armored targets. Soukaku buffs her attack and applies Ice off-field; a Stunner or Defensive shred rounds it out. Higher skill floor than the Disorder teams, huge payoff.
  • Zhu Yuan Ether crit (Zhu Yuan + Qingyi + Nicole). The premier single-target delete team from earlier patches has not gone anywhere. Nicole's Ether shred plus Qingyi's Stun turns Zhu Yuan into a boss-melting machine. Boss-heavy Shiyu rotations are where it shines.
  • Ellen Joe Ice crit (Ellen Joe + Soukaku + Von Lycaon). The original Ice hypercarry. Lycaon front-loads Daze and applies an Ice RES shred, Soukaku amps Ellen's damage, and Ellen unloads in the Stun window. Still an A-tier clear; only the newer Ice options edge it out.
  • Yanagi mono-Electric Anomaly (Tsukishiro Yanagi + Grace Howard + Astra Yao). If you invested into Electric, stacking two Electric Anomaly appliers snowballs Shock aggressively. Astra glues it together.

B-tier: the F2P and beginner clears

You will not top the leaderboards, but these clear the reward thresholds on free and low-cost Agents, which is all most accounts need.

  • Anby + Nicole + Soldier 11 (or Corin Wickes). The starter triangle every new player is handed. Anby Demara Stuns, Nicole shreds and batteries, and a free Attack Agent does the damage. It carries you through the entire early and mid game.
  • Koleda + Ben Bigger + Soldier 11. An all-Fire budget Stun-and-burn core that leans on shields and reliable Daze. Slow but sturdy, and completely free.
  • Piper + Lucy + a second Anomaly Agent. A budget Disorder shell built on Physical Assault application. Lucy's attack buff makes it punch above its rarity.

For a full walkthrough of role theory and how to slot free Agents, the beginner teams guide covers the fundamentals these comps rest on.

Where to spend your pulls this patch

The 3.1 verdict is clean. Remielle is the account-defining pull of the version because she opens an archetype rather than filling a slot, and she pairs with Velina for the strongest team in the game right now. Sigrid is the pick if you specifically want a modern, execution-heavy Ice carry and already own a good Stunner. If you own neither and your account is not swimming in Polychrome, the Disorder and Zhu Yuan teams above clear the same content on units you likely already have: bank your pulls for Version 3.2's Claret instead. The full pull calculus is on the banner page.

Whatever you run, gear it correctly before you blame the comp. The right Drive Discs and W-Engines are usually a bigger clear-versus-fail difference than swapping one Agent, and free redeem codes are the cheapest Polychrome you will find all patch.
