Mistfall Hunter Wiki
18 pagesMistfall Hunter is a dark-fantasy PvPvE extraction ARPG from Bellring Games, published by Skystone Games. You play a Gyldhunter descending into Gyldenmist-corrupted ruins to fight, loot, and escape, all while rival hunters hunt you for the same spoils. It has not fully released yet, so this wiki tracks the June 2026 demo build and grows toward the July 29, 2026 launch.
How Mistfall Hunter Plays
The loop is descend, loot, fight, and extract. You drop into the ruins, take on corroded enemies and Mist Lords, gather valuables, then race to extract before dying. Combat is deliberate and Souls-like, and every class swaps between two weapon stances mid-fight.
Classes and Builds
There are six classes, from the durable Mercenary and aggressive Withered Knight to the Sorcerer, Blackarrow, stealthy Shadowstrix, and supportive Seer. Builds come from pairing a class with its two stances, so the same class can play very differently.
PvPvE and Co-op
Runs are PvPvE: the deadliest threat is often another player, not a monster. You can go solo or play co-op with up to two friends, where coordinated comps and combos pay off.
A Note on Accuracy
Mistfall Hunter has not fully released. Everything here reflects the June 2026 Steam Next Fest demo and public information, so treat class kits, numbers, and systems as subject to change before the July 29, 2026 launch. We refresh this wiki as new builds and patches land.
Enemies
Classes
All six Mistfall Hunter classes, the two weapon sets each one carries, and the role each set actually plays in a squad.
The Mercenary is Mistfall Hunter's frontline bruiser: Sword and Shield to block and punish, or a two-handed Greathammer that drops the shield for burst.
The Withered Knight applies the Wither debuff and executes it: Greatsword for solo damage, Polearm and Shield for the best squad protection in the game.
The Sorcerer is the one class without a second weapon: a single staff, split into Elemental and Stardust magic.
Blackarrow is the precision ranged class: a bow with special arrow slots, plus a Javelin set for when a fight closes.
Shadowstrix is the ambush class, Dagger or Dual Blades, and it took a direct nerf in the September 3, 2026 update.
The Seer heals and protects on the Catalyst, or goes aggressive on the Mace. The one class that is clearly worse solo than in a trio.
Core Systems
Kill a Returner Woodling, take the Soul of Return from its Soul Tree, summon a portal, and ring the bell. The bell is the problem.
Five of the six classes carry two weapon sets with separate skills and talents. The Sorcerer is the exception.
Mistfall Hunter uses deliberate, Souls-like third-person combat with stamina, dodges, and weapon-stance swaps.
Hits resolve on the server, not your client. That is why damage goes missing and dodges get rubberbanded, and there is one setting that changes it.

Mistfall Hunter FAQ
What is Mistfall Hunter?
Mistfall Hunter is a dark-fantasy PvPvE extraction ARPG from Bellring Games, published by Skystone Games. You play a Gyldhunter who descends into Gyldenmist-corrupted ruins, fights AI enemies and rival players, gathers loot, and must extract before dying and losing it all. Combat is deliberate and Souls-like.
Is Mistfall Hunter out yet?
Not at full release. A free demo ran during the June 2026 Steam Next Fest, and the full game is scheduled to launch on July 29, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Details here reflect the demo build and may change before launch.
How many classes does Mistfall Hunter have?
Six. The classes are the Mercenary, Withered Knight, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, and Seer. Each carries two weapon stances it can switch between mid-fight, which is the core of the build system.
Does Mistfall Hunter have co-op?
Yes. You can play solo or team up in co-op groups of up to three players. A balanced trio survives PvPvE ambushes and pushes deeper than a solo hunter, and teammates can chain stance-based combos.
What is the extraction loop in Mistfall Hunter?
Each run, you enter the ruins, loot and fight, then find a way out, in the demo by locating a Returner Woodling to claim a Soul of Return. Extract and you keep your haul; die, and you drop it for enemies or rival hunters to take.
Is Mistfall Hunter PvP or PvE?
Both. It is PvPvE, so AI threats and rival Gyldhunters share the same map. Other players can avoid, fight, or ambush you, and killing another hunter can hand you their entire haul, which makes other players the biggest danger in most runs.

8 trackedSeason 2 Is Raising Drop Rates Across the Board, and the Devs Published the Complaint List It Came From
The Gyldenhunters' Council Phase 2 responses read as a point-by-point answer to what players have been saying. Season 2 raises overall drop rates so gearing is faster, replaces the Soul Harvest grind with a new seasonal mode and a dedicated exchange shop at a much lower cost, adds a shard exchange so key camp upgrade materials stop being the bottleneck, keeps Combat Bags flowing through events and raises their stack limits in a later patch, and improves the cost-effectiveness of forging and the Scavenger Squad. The caveat is in the studio's own first line: not all of it lands at the start of Season 2, and some rolls out across the season.
Your Missing Hits Are Not Imaginary, and DevNote #9 Explains Exactly Which Ones Were Never Real
The ninth Developer Update took on the complaint that damage sometimes does not register, and the answer is a design choice rather than a bug. Hit registration is resolved on the server, but waiting for the server before playing impact effects would make an action game feel sluggish, so Client-Side Damage Prediction is on by default: your client shows blood and plays the hit sound based on its own guess. When latency puts client and server out of step, you see the hit land and the server rules it a miss, so the enemy takes no damage and no stagger. The post goes on to list the optimisations already shipped and the ones still planned.
The Season Task That Wiped Your Progress on a Disconnect Is Gone, and Withered Knight Paid for It
A no-downtime update on 15 September at 08:00 UTC, with a client update needed afterwards. The quality-of-life win is the removal of the "complete all objectives within a single session, or all progress will be reset" condition on season tasks, alongside rewrites of two task requirements to simply surviving one Soul Harvest and defeating one Gyldhunter. Stackable items in Pip's Pouch no longer eat an extra slot each time you pick one up. On balance, Withered Knight lost damage on its delayed and consecutive Executions and on the post-dodge branch, while Mercenary got a cheaper Energy cost and two interrupt fixes.
Mistfall Hunter's September 3 update opens Solo Mode for Brandrgarde and ships the fourth balance pass
A no-downtime update on September 3 unlocked Solo Mode for Brandrgarde Normal and Cataclysm difficulty, the first post-launch mode expansion. The update also delivers the fourth balance pass since release: Shadowstrix, Sorcerer's Thunderstrike, Blackarrow's Steel Arrow, and Mercenary each received targeted adjustments, and a batch of known bugs was cleared.
Mistfall Hunter's no-downtime balance patch on August 19 buffs Withered Knight and reins in Mercenary
Bellring Games shipped the second broad balance pass on August 19 without server downtime, delivering seven reductions to Mercenary and ten increases to Withered Knight to close the gap between the two extraction classes. The update follows a stability-focused August 6 client patch and an August 7 server pass that unlocked Einherjar Mode's Mist Lord challenge and cleared a Polearm & Shield charge-cancel bug.
Mistfall Hunter launches Soul Harvest headline mode on August 12 alongside Fate Chart stage two
Season 1's headline Soul Harvest mode went live on August 12 with a second stage of the Fate Chart. Soul Harvest triggers at random inside Hallowgrove and Brandrgarde matches, spawning Soul Incubators carrying Soul Cocoons and a Fate Altar players can interact with, layering a new PvPvE objective on top of the existing extraction loop.
