Extraction Loop
Kill a Returner Woodling, take the Soul of Return from its Soul Tree, summon a portal, and ring the bell. The bell is the problem.

- Exit item
- Soul of Return (100% Woodling drop)
- Risk
- Death drops your haul
Each Mistfall Hunter run is a high-stakes loop. You enter the Gyldenmist ruins, gather loot, and then need to escape to bank it. Extraction is the only way anything reaches your warehouse. Die first and you lose what you were carrying.
The Three Beats of an Extract
- Find a Returner Woodling. It is a boss-tier marker on the map and gives itself away with bell sounds and effects that show through walls.
- Take the Soul of Return. Defeating the Woodling turns it into a Soul Tree; interacting with that tree hands over the Soul, a guaranteed drop rather than a roll.
- Summon the portal and ring the Bell of Return. This is the dangerous part. The bell is loud, and it tells everyone still on the map roughly where you are and that you are carrying something worth taking.
That last step is why extraction is a fight as often as an escape. A rival squad that hears a bell does not need to find your loot, only your exit.
Risk Versus Greed
Every additional fight or chest is more value but more exposure to enemies, Mist Lords, and rival hunters. Knowing when to leave is the core skill.
