RuneScape: Dragonwilds Boss Order: Every World Boss from Velgar to Kuldra

The nine-quest spine of Dragonwilds in order, every world boss and mini boss with health, power level and weakness, and the one fight where bringing the right damage type actually matters.

Four world bosses stand between you and the fifth, and only one of them has a weakness you can exploit. That is the shape of Dragonwilds progression, and it is worth knowing in advance, because the usual survival-game instinct of "check the weakness, bring the counter" works exactly once in the main line.

The primary quests are strictly sequential and they gate the map, so the boss order is also the region order. There is no sequence breaking.

The spine, at a glance

Quests one to four (First Steps, Getting Started, Ratcatcher, Rune Mysteries) all sit in Temple Woods and have no boss. They exist to teach you gathering, combat, and Runecrafting respectively.

Velgar: the fight that teaches you the game is not about weaknesses

6,000 health at power 4, no weakness, at Velgar's Rise. He is a dragon general, his poisoned blood is why the Bloodblight Swamp is the way it is, and killing him lifts the dragon subjugation over Brynmoor.

What carries this fight is stamina discipline and weak-spot hits. Weak-spot crits have no cooldown in Dragonwilds, so a player who aims does measurably more damage than one who swings at the body. If you have Tempest Shield at 11 Attack, blocking actually prevents damage instead of just reducing it, and that is worth more here than one more weapon tier.

Imaru: more than double the health, one power level later

This is where most first-time runs stall. Imaru is power 5 with 14,000 health, against Velgar's 6,000. One rung up the ladder, and the fight is more than twice as long.

She was one of two dragons protecting the humans of Fellhollow before she was corrupted, which is why the region is now an undead waste. No weakness, again.

Length is the problem, not damage, which makes this a Cooking and stamina check. Go in with food. If your gear has not moved past Steel at power 5, go and fix that first, because a fight this long against an opponent you cannot type-counter is decided by whether you run out of resources before she runs out of health.

Fellhollow also throws Zogres at you on the way, which is worth flagging: they sit at power 5 with 4,200 to 6,000 health, so an ordinary mini boss here is as durable as the world boss one region back. Bring Crush for them.

Black Knight Titan: the one fight where the counter works

Power 6, 14,000 health, and weak to Crush.

After two world bosses that shrug off type matching, this is the one where it pays, and it pays enormously. A Mithril or Adamant warhammer or mace turns a grind into a sensible fight. The single most common reason players stall in Dowdun Reach is bringing the scimitar they have been using happily for twenty hours.

He is Lord Rasmodel, after a magical fusion went catastrophically wrong, and he sits at the end of a fortress rather than a wilderness: nine sealed areas in sequence, from The Approach through to the Bastion, with blue dragons kept in the Menagerie along the way.

Carry a Crush option in the second slot from this point on. The Titan, the Garou King and every Zogre in the game all answer to it.

Fuzan: the gear check before the endgame

16,000 health at power 7, no weakness, in the Umbral Sands. He is the one magnifying the sun through the Lens and branding the local Garou to siphon their strength.

Adamant at power 7 is the realistic floor. The good news is that the region hands you two of the best reasons in the game to be over-levelled before you get to him:

  • Tok-Xil, power 7, 7,000 health, weak to Water. Drops the Uzzerian Umber mount.
  • Kalphite Queen, power 7, 5,500 health per phase. Drops the Moonsilk Weave mount.

Those are the only two mounts in Dragonwilds and they are in the same region. Clear both before Fuzan and he will feel like a formality.

Kuldra: read the number, then read the footnote

240,000 health. Power 9. Five heads sharing one consciousness. The only monster in the game above 10,000 health, and it is not close.

Then the footnote: the encounter hands you anima cannons that deal 9,999 damage per shot. Her health bar is sized against those, not against your gear. A failed Kuldra run is almost always a positioning or survival problem rather than a damage one, which is the opposite of how the number reads at first glance.

Getting to her means the Scorned Wilderness, added on launch day with 1.0: floating islands reached only by killing the elemental dragons guarding the gateways, with terrain hostile enough that you need protection from Kuldra's attacks simply to move. The Regicide quest opens it.

She drops the Queenslayer's Reward Pack, which contains the Dragon Scimitar, the only power 9 weapon in Dragonwilds. Note the ordering: you get the best one-handed weapon in the game as a reward for no longer needing it. The Rune Greataxe at power 8 does 196 to 343 damage against the scimitar's 102 to 215, and you can craft it beforehand.

The mini bosses, sorted by what beats them

Worth memorising as a damage-type cheat sheet rather than a list of names.

BossPowerHealthWeakness
Abyssal Demon41,500Slash
Garou King51,035Crush
Green Dragon52,800Water
Zogre54,200 to 6,000Crush
Blue Dragon64,000Water
Red Dragon75,000Water
Tok-Xil77,000Water
Kalphite Queen75,500 per phaseNone

Three Water, two Crush, one Slash. Every chromatic dragon in the game folds to Water, which is the single best argument for levelling Magic even on a melee character, and 1.0 added Enchant Weapon: Water so you can get the benefit without changing style.

Gear rankings for each stage of that run live on the Dragonwilds tier list.
