Iron is the mid-game metal step up from bronze, mined directly from ore nodes that only a Bronze Pickaxe or better can break. The catch is that iron mines are heavily guarded, often by high-level Claw tribesmen, so securing them is a combat goal as much as a mining one. It unlocks stronger tools, weapons, and gear.
