Base building in Soulmask climbs through four construction tiers, thatch, wood, stone, and top-end blackstone, each with a full set of foundations, walls, ceilings, doors, stairs, and pillars. You do not have to tear down to upgrade: holding E over a lower-tier piece while carrying the next material swaps it in place, so a thatch starter hut can grow into a stone or blackstone stronghold over time. Blackstone is unlocked deep in the tech tree, and reaching it is what lets a base shrug off heavier raids.
