The Short Answer

Orbis is home to a wide cast of creatures and factions, from peaceful plant-folk to tribal raiders and the undead. Some you will befriend or trade with, and some will try to end your adventure. Knowing who is who helps you read a situation before it turns into a fight. The roster grows as Early Access updates add more of the world's inhabitants.

Friendly and Neutral Peoples

  • Kweebecs. Gentle, plant-like beings closely tied to the forests of Orbis. They grow and change with the seasons and are among the most recognizable faces of the world. Generally peaceful.
  • Outlanders. Nomadic humans who survive in the wilds. Depending on the situation they can be neutral or hostile, and their camps are a common sight out in the world.
  • Ferans. Agile, feline humanoids associated with the wilder regions, known for speed and a hunter's instinct.

Hostile and Tribal Factions

  • Trorks. Tribal, goblin-and-orc-like creatures that gather around camps, watchtowers, and campfires. They are a classic early threat: dangerous in numbers, with melee fighters up front and ranged attackers behind.
  • Scaraks. Insectoid, hive-minded creatures that fight as a swarm. Encountering a Scarak nest means dealing with many enemies at once, so positioning matters.

The Undead and the Void

Tied to the darker lore of Orbis are the undead and other corrupted creatures associated with the looming threat often called the Void. These enemies lean into classic danger: relentless, eerie, and a sign that you have wandered somewhere that wants you gone. You can read more about that overarching threat on our world of Orbis page.

Fighting Them Well

Different creatures call for different approaches, and timing beats button-mashing every time:

  • Against Trork groups, deal with ranged attackers first and avoid getting surrounded.
  • Against swarms like Scaraks, use chokepoints and keep moving so you are never overwhelmed.
  • Against the undead, expect them at night and in darker regions, and come prepared with light and a reliable weapon.
