She dances, a second Odette peels off to keep fighting, and the screen fills with pale-blue reaction numbers. That is the whole pitch. Odette Spessiva, Prima Ballerina of the Korolevskiy Troupe and the first 5-star to walk out of Snezhnaya, is not a stand-still-and-mash carry. She is a summoner who leaves a copy of herself on the field and cashes in the new Cryo reaction system while she does it. If you pulled her on Swan's Shadow in Silken Ice, here is how to make her hit.
What Odette actually does
Odette is a 5-star Cryo sword unit whose damage runs through two things: the double her kit summons, and the Stellar Glimmer reaction her Burst amplifies. Her talents follow the ballet theme all the way down:
| Talent | Name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Attack | Snow Swan Variation | A five-hit sword string plus a charged attack; her baseline Cryo application on-field. |
| Elemental Skill | Adagio: Phantom Night Dancers | Summons a double of Odette that stays on the field and attacks nearby enemies on its own. |
| Elemental Burst | Presto: Bluebird Finale | Summons her double again and, for a window afterward, deals extra Stellar Glimmer reaction damage. |
The mechanical takeaway: her skill creates an off-field body that keeps applying Cryo and dealing damage while you act with the rest of the team, and her Burst turns on a reaction-damage window on top of it. That makes her a hybrid. She can drive a team on-field, but her double means she keeps contributing even when you swap out, so she slots into Cryo and Stellar-Reaction cores without hogging every second of field time.
If the phrase "Stellar Glimmer" means nothing to you yet, read the Stellar Reactions primer first. The short version: Version 7.0 reworked Cryo so it triggers a family of enhanced reactions instead of the old shrug-worthy Superconduct, and Odette is the first unit built to profit from them.
Stat priority: read the reaction before you farm
Here is the fork that decides her whole build. Stellar Glimmer is a reaction, and reaction damage scales off Elemental Mastery, not Crit. But her double and her Normal/Charged hits are ordinary talent damage that scale off ATK and Crit. So Odette is one of those hybrid units where the "correct" stat spread depends on how much of her total output is reaction versus direct hits, and that ratio firms up as players test her live.
Two builds cover it:
- Reaction-forward (EM build): lean into Elemental Mastery to pump Stellar Glimmer, keep a workable Crit ratio on top. Best when her reaction damage is the bulk of her output and she is played more as a reaction driver.
- Hybrid Crit build: Crit Rate / Crit DMG sands with an ATK% or Cryo DMG main stat, EM as a secondary. Best if her double and direct hits carry a meaningful share of the damage.
Until the community damage math settles, the safe default is a hybrid: Crit ratio you can actually land, plus as much Elemental Mastery as you can bank without wrecking it. If you are still learning how to weigh those substats, the crit ratio guide and the Elemental Mastery guide are the two to read.
Sands / Goblet / Circlet, working target:
| Slot | Reaction-forward | Hybrid |
|---|---|---|
| Sands | Elemental Mastery or ATK% | ATK% |
| Goblet | Cryo DMG (or EM if reaction-heavy) | Cryo DMG |
| Circlet | Crit Rate / Crit DMG | Crit Rate / Crit DMG |
Substats always want Crit, ATK%, and Elemental Mastery. Energy Recharge only as much as your team's particle economy demands, since her Burst is what switches on the Stellar Glimmer window and you want it up every rotation.
Artifacts
Odette has no single locked-in set at launch, so build to the role you are playing her in:
- A dedicated Cryo damage set is the clean default if she is your Cryo carrier, converting her Cryo DMG bonus into both her hits and her double's.
- An Elemental Mastery / reaction set becomes correct if her Stellar Glimmer damage dominates, the same logic that makes EM sets win on other reaction drivers.
- Golden Troupe rewards her summon-heavy playstyle if the bulk of her damage comes from her Elemental Skill and the double it leaves behind, since it boosts Skill damage hard.
If two sets are close, pick the one whose pieces already have good substats sitting in your inventory. A 4-piece with clean rolls beats a "correct" set with garbage sands every time. New to set logic? The artifact guide covers how sets and main stats interact.
Weapons
No signature required. Match the sword to the job:
- Summon-uptime swords keep her double and her Burst window online. Sacrificial Sword can reset her Elemental Skill for a second double; Favonius Sword funds her energy so Presto is always ready. These are the F2P-and-friendly backbone.
- Elemental Mastery swords (Iron Sting, Xiphos' Moonlight, Freedom-Sworn at the top end) push the reaction-forward build. Iron Sting is a genuinely strong 4-star here and costs you nothing.
- Crit / ATK swords serve the hybrid build if her direct damage is carrying.
The honest ranking: her signature 5-star sword, Whitelake Frostfeather on the Phase 1 weapon banner, is tuned to her kit and wins if you can afford the Epitomized Path. Below that, Iron Sting for reaction damage and Sacrificial or Favonius for uptime are the value picks that let you build her well for free.
Teams that want her
Odette's off-field double and Cryo application make her a natural fit for the Stellar-Reaction cores that define 7.0. Three directions:
1. Stellar-Conduct with Electro. Pair Odette's Cryo with a steady off-field Electro source (Fischl is the F2P gold standard, Raiden funds energy and adds a spike) to keep triggering the upgraded Cryo-Electro reaction. Add Kazuha or Sucrose to group enemies and buff, and a healer or shielder to hold the line. This is the same skeleton our Stellar-Conduct teams guide lays out, with Odette as the Cryo body.
2. Cryo double-down. Stack Cryo supports around her: Shenhe for the Cryo damage buff, Citlali for extra Cryo plus resistance shred and healing, or Escoffier as a Cryo healer. This maximizes her Cryo DMG goblet and keeps the element saturated for Stellar Reactions, while a grouper ties it together.
3. The free-to-play version. The Cryo Traveler (unlocked through the Snezhnaya Archon Quest) and Alyosha (the free 4-star Electro handed out this version) let lower-spend accounts run a Stellar-Reaction shell around Odette without a second limited unit. Do not sleep on the free Cryo Traveler; nation-signature Traveler elements exist to enable exactly this kind of system.

Constellations: where the value sits
As with most summon-and-reaction units, Odette's early constellations tend to smooth her rotation, extend her double's uptime, or raise her Stellar Glimmer window, and a later one usually adds the big damage or reaction multiplier. If you are a Crit-account whale, the constellation that lifts her reaction ceiling is the one to target; if you are a value pull, C0 is fully functional because her whole identity, the double plus the reaction window, is already in the base kit. Weigh any constellation against a fresh weapon first: the wish and Primogem economy guide exists so you do not overspend chasing a marginal cone.
Is she worth pulling?
Pull Odette if any of these is true:
- You want to be early on Stellar Reactions. She is the first unit built for 7.0's Cryo rework, the way early Dendro adopters got months of head start when Sumeru landed.
- You like off-field, low-babysitting carries. Her double does work while you play the rest of the team, which is a genuinely comfortable playstyle for endgame.
- Your Cryo bench is thin. A reaction-driving Cryo 5-star revalues Shenhe, Citlali, and the free Cryo Traveler you already own.
Skip, or save, if you are hoarding for the Tsaritsa (expected several patches out, most commonly cited around 7.3) and Odette does not personally grab you. She is a strong, flexible unit, not a mandatory one, and 7.0 is a saving patch for anyone with the Cryo Archon as their endgame.
