V Rising magic is split into six Schools of Magic: Blood, Chaos, Unholy, Frost, Illusion, and Storm. You unlock individual spells by defeating V Blood bosses and then slot them into one travel skill and two offensive or defensive ability slots. Each school applies its own status effect, and you can mix spells from different schools freely, so build crafting is about pairing the right effects with your weapon and blood type. The Invaders of Oakveil update reworked the whole system and rebalanced every school.
