The Short Answer
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 is expected to launch on or around July 29, 2026, roughly six weeks after Version 3.0 kicked off Season 3 on June 17. It continues the story above Roscaelifer, the floating sky island that opened the new season, and it is set to add two new S-Rank Agents: Velina, a Lumiflux Anomaly hyper-carry built around driving elemental reactions, in Phase 1, and Sigrid, a rhythm-based Ice Attack burst DPS, in Phase 2. HoYoverse has not run the official 3.1 Special Program at the time of writing, so treat character kits and the exact date as leaks and beta information that can still change before launch.
This is a HostedGG news breakdown. We flag what is confirmed, what is leaked, and what is still a guess, so you can plan your pulls without getting burned by a last-minute revision.
When Does ZZZ 3.1 Release?
ZZZ has settled into a reliable six-week patch cycle, and Version 3.0 launched on June 17, 2026. Counting forward one full cycle puts Version 3.1 at July 29, 2026, which lines up with the datamined banner schedule circulating after the 3.0 beta. As always, the update goes live after a short maintenance window, and you can expect the usual maintenance compensation Polychrome in your mailbox once servers come back up.
Two things are worth setting your watch by:
- The 3.1 Special Program livestream usually airs about a week to ten days before the patch, so watch for it in the back half of July. That is when the redemption codes for free Polychrome drop.
- The pre-installation package tends to open two to three days before launch. Downloading early means you are playing the moment servers unlock instead of waiting on a patch.
Who Is Velina?
Velina is shaping up to be the headline of 3.1: a new S-Rank Anomaly specialist of the Lumiflux attribute, the light-based element introduced in the Season 3 rework of the combat system. Leaks describe her as a hyper-carry whose whole identity is accelerating and detonating elemental reactions rather than landing raw hits, which puts her in the same design family as ZZZ's other Anomaly stars but with a faster, reaction-chaining loop.
If those leaks hold, Velina wants a team that keeps her Anomaly buildup rolling: a second Anomaly or attribute-matching Agent to stack status faster, and a support who can shred enemy resistance or grant her energy. Anomaly carries historically pair well with off-field appliers, so expect the theorycrafting community to slot her next to units that keep pressure on while she cycles. We will publish a full Velina build guide the moment her kit is finalized on the live server, but for the general principles, our drive discs and W-Engines guide already covers how Anomaly stats like Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery actually work.
Who Is Sigrid?
Sigrid is the Phase 2 S-Rank: an Ice Agent built around Attack and burst damage, with a leaked gimmick tied to rhythm and timing, rewarding players who land inputs on beat for bonus damage. That makes her a more execution-heavy carry than Velina, closer to a traditional hit-based DPS than a reaction driver.
For Ice teams, Sigrid slots into the archetype that already leans on shredding enemy Ice resistance and stacking Attack, so returning players who invested in existing Ice supports should find she has a home. If you are newer and unsure how these roles fit together, start with our best teams for beginners guide, which explains the DPS, Stun, and Support triangle that every ZZZ team is built on.
Banner Order and What to Save For
Based on the leaked schedule, the 3.1 banners break down like this:
| Phase | Featured S-Rank | Role | Attribute |
| Phase 1 | Velina (new) | Anomaly carry | Lumiflux |
| Phase 2 | Sigrid (new) | Burst DPS | Ice |
Reruns for both halves have not leaked cleanly yet, so we are holding off on listing them until the Special Program confirms them. Historically each phase pairs a new limited Agent with a rerun and a featured W-Engine banner, so budget for that.
How much should you save? ZZZ's pity is friendlier than most of its peers. The limited Agent banner guarantees an S-Rank by 90 pulls with a 50/50 on whether it is the featured unit, and losing the 50/50 guarantees the next one. That means a hard pity of 180 pulls in the absolute worst case, and far fewer on average. If you are chasing both Velina and Sigrid, a healthy target is roughly 300 Polychrome-equivalent pulls to feel safe across both halves, though most players land their units well under that.
Free Pulls Before You Spend
Before you touch a banner, sweep up every scrap of free premium currency. Two habits pay off every single patch:
- Redeem all active codes. New Special Program codes expire fast, usually within a day or two. Keep our ZZZ codes page open during the livestream and punch them in immediately.
- Clear your endgame modes. Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault both hand out Polychrome on a rotation. Our Shiyu Defense guide and our Deadly Assault guide walk through clearing both for the full reward payout each cycle.
Should You Pull?
- Pull Velina if you want a modern Anomaly hyper-carry and you do not already have a settled Lumiflux or reaction-focused core. Reaction carries tend to age well because their damage scales with team investment, not just their own numbers.
- Pull Sigrid if you enjoy execution-heavy, on-beat combat and want a dedicated Ice Attack DPS, or if your Ice bench is thin. Skip her if you already run a strong Ice carry and would rather bank for a future favorite.
- Save entirely if neither fills a real gap. Season 3 is young, and more Lumiflux and returning-favorite banners are certain to follow. There is never shame in sitting a patch out to build a war chest.
Whatever you decide, plan around your roster, not the hype. Check where your account actually stands on our ZZZ tier list before committing, and if you are still deciding whether ZZZ is worth your time this season, our full review lays out the case.
