Free players, the number you want is 80.
That is where Hollow, a WAW E.G.O for Faust, sits on the free track of the Season 8 pass. WAW is one step below the top rarity, Project Moon does not hand them out often, and this one costs nothing but levels.
Here is the whole E.G.O ladder:
| Level | E.G.O | Sinner | Rarity | Track |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | Repudiation | Hong Lu | ZAYIN | Free |
| 40 | Mirror-touch | Rodion | TETH | Paid |
| 80 | Hollow | Faust | WAW | Free |
| 120 | Hollow | Meursault | WAW | Paid |
Read the shape of that. The free track carries the low-rarity opener and one of the two WAW E.G.O. The paid track carries a TETH, which is the second-lowest rarity in the game, and the other WAW at the very top of the grind.
So is the paid track worth it
For most people the honest answer is that the paid track is one WAW E.G.O and a TETH, and you should decide on that basis rather than on the length of the reward list.
If Meursault is a fixture in your teams, level 120 is a real pull-free way to get him a top-tier E.G.O, and the Limbus Pass is cheap by the standards of the genre. If he is not, you are paying for Rodion's TETH and a pile of materials you will eventually have anyway.
What the paid track is genuinely good at is compounding: Identity Training Tickets, Thread, Enkephalin Modules and Boxes, Egoshard crates, Extraction Tickets and Uptie-only Shards all arrive faster, which matters more to an account that is still building its first full roster than to one that has been playing since Season 4.
The Special Package, and what it reveals
The Special Package costs 2,700 paid Lunacy, or 1,700 if you have already bought the Limbus Pass. It contains:
- The Limbus Pass, if you do not yet own it
- 10 Pass Levels
- One Level Boost Ticket VI
- A Special Package Banner cosmetic
The gap between those two prices is the interesting bit. 1,000 paid Lunacy is what the Pass itself is being valued at inside this bundle, which means the remaining 1,700 buys ten levels, a boost ticket and a banner.
Whether ten levels are worth 1,700 Lunacy depends entirely on how close you are to a cutoff. Ten levels that carry you from 72 to 82 buy you a WAW E.G.O. Ten levels that take you from 20 to 30 buy you a ZAYIN you would have reached anyway. Buy the package when you are stalling just short of 80 or 120, not at the start of the season.
The rest of the 120 levels
Beyond the E.G.O, the pass pays out across both tracks in the currencies that actually gate progress:
- Identity Training Tickets III and IV, Thread, and Uptie and Threadspinning Shards, which is your Uptie budget
- Enkephalin Modules and Boxes, which is your farming budget
- Random and Nominable Egoshard Crates, with Nominable crates again in the EX tier past 120
- Extraction Tickets and up to 300 Lunacy at level 45
- Level Boost Ticket VI at level 20, and a Takeoff Module for ID Uptie
Cosmetics sit at the top: a Season 8 Celebratory Banner at level 1, business card decorations at 70, 90 and 110, and the Season 8 Completion Banner at 120. The season's Battle Announcers live here too, including the G.M. Sisyphe customer announcements and Jeanne and Meursault voice sets.
One caveat worth stating plainly: the wiki's reward table merges the free and paid tracks, so apart from the four E.G.O, which are explicitly marked, it is not always clear from the outside which side a given reward sits on. The in-game pass screen is the authority there.
A grinding plan that respects the cutoffs
The pass is not a race, but it is not infinite either, and Project Moon has not announced when Season 8 ends.
- Level 30 for Hong Lu's Repudiation. Trivial, get it out of the way.
- Level 45 for the 300 Lunacy, which is a third of what the Pass is worth inside the Special Package.
- Level 80 for Faust's Hollow. This is the target for everyone, paying or not.
- Level 120 only if you own the Pass and play Meursault.
Your throughput is Enkephalin, so the Luxcavation and Thread farming guide is the lever that actually moves pass levels, and the Mirror of Sisyphe is where the weekly bulk comes from. If you are not sure what a WAW E.G.O will ask of you once you own it, the E.G.O guide covers the sin cost and the Corrosion threshold that turns a win into a wipe.
