Genshin Impact Version 7.0 launched on August 12, 2026, and it closed on September 22 when Version 7.1 took over. If you came here for a countdown, there is nothing left to count. Snezhnaya has been open for eleven weeks, the last of Teyvat's seven nations is on the map, and the version that carried it is two patches back.
What is still worth having is the record of what shipped, because the pre-release picture this page was built on in July got two things wrong. Both are fixed below, and one of them is still actionable: the best unit in 7.0 is free, and a lot of accounts have never collected it.
What shipped, against what the leaks said

Alyosha is the correction that matters. He is not a 5-star, and he was never on a banner at all. He is a 4-star Electro polearm handed to any account that finishes Archon Quest Chapter VII Act I, "Everwinter Without Mercy". That makes him the only new 7.0 character you can still obtain for nothing but quest time, and he is one of the two Electro appliers that the Cryo rework below is built to pair with.
The Cryo Traveler is the other free pickup, and the order matters: you resonate with a Snezhnayan Statue of the Seven to unlock the element, and only then can a no-cost unit trigger the new reactions. If you have not set foot in Snezhnaya, that is two usable characters sitting behind one quest chain.
The reaction family is Stellar Glimmer, and 7.0 added half of it
The second correction is naming, and it is the one most coverage still gets loose. The umbrella term for Snezhnaya's enhanced reactions is Stellar Glimmer, not "Stellar Reactions", and the family did not all arrive in 7.0.

So 7.0's genuinely new reaction is Stellar Swirl, the Anemo and Cryo one. Stellar-Conduct predates the nation by six weeks: it shipped with Sandrone in 6.7 and was effectively locked behind her until Odette arrived and broke it open. Odette has not reappeared since, which puts her in the usual debut-to-first-rerun gap of roughly six months to a year. Nothing on the schedule confirms a date for her return, so treat any Odette rerun claim as a leak until a Special Program says otherwise.
Where 7.0 sits now
Version 7.1 is the live patch, and it ends November 3, 2026. Its Phase 2 is the rerun half: Skirk on "Void Star's Advent" and Escoffier on "La Chanson Cerise", running since October 13 and sharing one pity counter, which is the detail worth knowing before you spend. After that, Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" launches November 4, 2026, with Mitya and Valeriy debuting alongside a Furina rerun, confirmed at the October 23 Special Program. Snezhnaya continues through it, so the region 7.0 opened is still the one the story is working through.
