Grounded 2 has three mandatory story boss encounters and six optional ones. The story three are the O.R.C. Broodmother and Masked Fighter duo in the Ominent Field Archives, General Berserker part-way up the Network Center, and the Masked Stranger on its top floor, who is the last fight in the game's current content. The optional six are four O.R.C. officers scattered between the cement tunnel and the Statue, plus Axl and King Dozer, the two that are genuinely harder than anything the story asks of you.

Two things most boss lists get wrong

Bandit is not a tenth boss. Several lists file it as a separate story boss. It is phase three of the Masked Stranger fight: at 30% health she retreats to the chamber balcony and sends in Bandit, a buffed O.R.C. Wolf Spider that hits harder than a wild one but carries the same health pool. Killing Bandit ends the phase and the fight. It has a major weakness to Spicy, which is the single most useful fact about the encounter and the reason to bring a Spicy weapon to the final fight rather than your highest raw damage one.

The Masked Stranger is the end, not the beginning. Networking is the final story quest, and she is the last thing in it, after which you speak to Sloan through BURG.L's head. She appears throughout the opening act and reads like an early antagonist, but you do not fight her until the top of the Network Center.

Whether the optional six are worth it

They all drop an O.R.C. Receiver, and it is worth being precise about what that is and is not. It is a tier 2 resource that harvests from the remains of every O.R.C. creature, not just the officers, so these fights are not your only supply. It feeds the O.R.C. Nullifier armour, O.R.C. Disruption Bombs, Disruptor Arrows, the Volatile Capacitor and the Flashfurter.

The better argument is that the officers do not respawn. Clearing Captain Nitro and Captain Turbo permanently removes two tier-appropriate threats from the route you will walk repeatedly on the way to the Network Center, which matters more than the drop does.

Axl and King Dozer are a different proposition entirely, and neither is a wander-in. Axl resists 75% of all damage unless you hit the scar on his abdomen, and King Dozer's den is gated behind a tier 2 Omni-Wrench. Read the damage types page before either.

Still unconfirmed

Two points are deliberately not asserted above. Captain Nitro's status is contested: the boss lists call all four officers skippable, while the Networking walkthroughs route you through Ranger Station: Flower Bed and have you kill him on the way, so "optional" may be true of the fight and not of the path. And a winter update boss has been confirmed by Obsidian with its identity unrevealed, so this list is current content only and will need a row added.

Locations and drops here were checked on 2026-09-30 against the Gamer Guides Grounded 2 creature database, Game8's boss list and the Networking walkthroughs. Individual entries for the four O.R.C. officers and General Berserker do not exist in this wiki yet, which is why they are unlinked.
