Grounded 2 is about bringing the right gear and the right bug to the fight. These boards rank weapons, armor sets, and Buggy mounts for general play in Brookhollow Park, with every pick linked to its wiki page where we have one. Two things decide most fights: matching your damage type to what the bug in front of you is weak to, and whether you have bothered to go and fetch the unique weapons, several of which outclass anything you can craft at the same point.

Grounded 2 Weapon Tier List

Ranked on damage, reach, and how well each weapon covers the damage types bugs are weak to. Tier 2 and 3 gear sits above tier 1 by default, and the unique weapons you have to go and find outclass most of what you can craft alongside them.

Best in the park

Wolfsbane Fangs

The strongest weapon in the game and the one to build around. Tier 3 dual daggers with heavy damage and enough mobility to fight things that would flatten you in a slower kit. Kill a Wolf Spider, take the fang it drops to a Resource Analyzer for the recipe.

Pinch Whacker

The best one-handed club in the game and a unique you cannot craft. Smashing damage with heavy stun, and its third hit lands an AoE shock. Blow open the wall in the unnamed tunnel north of the Fire Pit with a Bratburst; it is sitting on an office chair.

Gloom Skewer

The best spear in the game, with a higher crit chance than its peers and a charged attack that leaves the target more vulnerable to stab damage. At the bottom of the Toxic Anthill behind the Cockroach Queen, and you need a tier 2 axe for the mushrooms blocking it.

Black Ant Sword

The best craftable melee weapon of the midgame. Fast slashing swings, no scavenger hunt required, and it stays useful well past the point you unlock it.

Sprig Bow

Reliable ranged damage that softens dangerous bugs before they reach you. The answer to anything you would rather not melee.

Solid

Scorching Orb

Elemental damage that shines against bugs weak to it and does very little against those that are not. Situational by design.

Roach Club

Smashing damage with good stagger, the budget answer to shelled and armored bugs before the Pinch Whacker.
