Temperature is a real hazard: the facility cools at night and drops to "Chilly" when power fails, while hot zones and portal worlds push the other way. Unchecked heat ramps from Warm to Hot to Heatstroke, and cold runs Chilly to Cold to Hypothermia, each tier inflicting debuffs. You buffer it with gear and traits that grant Heat or Cold Resistance, and warm up beside a Heater. The HUD's temperature bar shows how many levels your resistance currently cancels out.
