Anniversary patches run on a simple rule: HoYoverse gives, and you should be standing there with a bucket. Zenless Zone Zero's version 3.1 lands July 29 as the game's first-anniversary update, and the Special Program that precedes it is the single most rewarding livestream of the year. Between redemption codes, login events, and anniversary Polychrome, this is the window where a patient free-to-play account can bank a serious pull count for nothing.
This is the loot-focused companion to our 3.1 anniversary prep guide. If you want the character breakdown for who is actually on the banners, that lives in everything we know about Velina and Sigrid. Here we are only counting free rewards.
Livestream codes: grab them fast
Every HoYoverse Special Program drops a set of three redemption codes during the broadcast, each worth a chunk of Polychrome and ascension mats. They are the most time-sensitive freebie in the game: the codes expire within about 24 to 48 hours of the stream, so redeem them the moment they appear, not after the patch.
Redeem in-game through the menu, or on the web redemption page with your logged-in account. The second the 3.1 Special Program airs, the live codes go up on our ZZZ codes page with the standing evergreen codes, so bookmark it and check it during the stream.
Rough value of a full Special Program code set, based on past streams:
| Source | Typical reward |
| Livestream code 1 | 100 Polychrome + upgrade mats |
| Livestream code 2 | 100 Polychrome + Dennies |
| Livestream code 3 | 100 Polychrome + boost mats |
| Stream total | ~300 Polychrome, gone in a day if you miss it |
The anniversary rewards worth planning around
Livestream codes are the appetizer. The anniversary track itself is where the real pulls come from, and first-anniversary generosity in HoYo games has trended upward. Expect the 3.1 rewards to cluster around a few reliable buckets:
- A login event running the length of the patch, typically handing out a stacked total of Polychrome across the days.
- Anniversary mail and web-event rewards, the "thank you for a year" Polychrome and encrypted master tapes that land in your inbox.
- A commemorative selector or hand-out, the kind of one-time anniversary gift HoYo has used in other titles to smooth over a rough year. Treat any specific selector rumor as unconfirmed until the stream, but budget for the possibility.
Add it up and a diligent account can walk out of the first week of 3.1 with a five-star's worth of pulls that cost exactly nothing. That changes the pull math on the Velina and Sigrid banners more than any single code does.
How to be ready on July 29
Free rewards only help if your account can spend them well. Two things to do before the patch flips:
- Bank your Polychrome and Master Tapes now. Do not spend down to zero on the current Norma banner unless she is a genuine want. Anniversary is a saver's holiday.
- Clear anything that caps. Finish your Battle Pass, spend Battery Charge on ascension mats, and empty the shops that reset. You want a clean slate so the anniversary influx actually moves your account instead of overflowing.
And while you are waiting for the stream, the anniversary lull is the perfect time to finally push your endgame. If you have been avoiding it, our Shiyu Defense guide and Deadly Assault guide turn the two hardest modes into a repeatable free-Polychrome routine, which stacks neatly on top of everything the anniversary is about to hand you.
The Special Program is the loudest reward moment ZZZ gets all year. Show up live, redeem the codes before they die, and let the anniversary do the rest.
