Coquelic is a sustain unit that happens to hit hard, and almost every short description of her, including the one that used to sit on our own Coquelic wiki page, gets that backwards. She is S-rank, she is a Catalyst, and her damage is True Damage, which ignores both Defense and Magic Resistance. But the thing she is actually for is keeping a team alive without spending a slot on a dedicated healer, and the damage is what she does while doing it.
If you pulled her and you are wondering where she goes, the short version is a team that has somewhere for her to stand in melee and allies worth buffing. If you are wondering whether to chase her, read the Scarlet Flower section first, because her whole value sits there and it is conditional in a way her rarity does not advertise.
Scarlet Flower is the entire kit
Her Ultimate, Poppy, does two different things depending on whether it is the first or the second cast.
The first cast paints a grid area and gives every ally standing in it the Scarlet Flower buff, and that buff lasts the entire battle. Nothing removes it, nothing times out. Cast it again and those same buffed allies recover HP.
Then the passive turns it into an engine. Every normal attack Coquelic makes triggers healing on anyone carrying Scarlet Flower. So the Ultimate is not a heal button you press on a cooldown; it is a one-time setup that converts her autoattack into a trickle of party sustain for the rest of the fight. Poppy holds up to two charges, which is what lets you open with the buff and keep a burst heal in the bank.
The catch is positioning. Scarlet Flower only lands on allies inside the grid area when you cast it, and Coquelic has to keep attacking for the healing to tick. A fight that pulls your team apart, or one where she gets no safe melee window, turns the strongest part of her kit off. This is the same positioning discipline the rest of the game runs on, covered in the beginner's guide, and she punishes sloppiness with it more than most S-ranks.
Where the damage comes from
Not from her basic attack, which is unremarkable. Thorned Blade scales from 63% of Attack at level 1 to 113% at level 10, which is fine and no more than fine.
The damage is in Floral Sword Slash. Every 15 seconds her next attack becomes a multi-slash, and the number of hits scales with how many buffed allies are standing near her: 5 slashes at the low end, up to 10. Each slash lands for 45% to 90% True Damage depending on skill level, and the effect stacks up to 3 times.
Read that interaction carefully, because it is the reason she is a strange unit. The more allies you buffed with Scarlet Flower, the harder she hits. Her healing and her damage come off the same number. There is no build decision where you trade one for the other, which is unusual in a game where most Sinners ask you to pick a lane.
Timeless Memory is the second passive and it is quieter: 6% to 12% Attack, plus 1 Energy generated per slash from Floral Sword Slash. That second clause matters more than the stat. A 10-slash burst is 10 Energy, which is what keeps her second Poppy charge coming back.
| What | Level 1 | Max level |
|---|---|---|
| Thorned Blade (basic) | 63% of Attack | 113% of Attack |
| Floral Sword Slash, per slash | 45% True Damage | 90% True Damage |
| Slashes per burst | 5 | 10, with enough buffed allies nearby |
| Poppy healing coefficient | 200% | 300% |
| Timeless Memory attack bonus | 6% | 12% |
River of Flowers, and whether you need it
Her exclusive Crimebrand is River of Flowers, and it does one thing: when an ally carrying Scarlet Flower attacks, it has an 80% to 100% chance to trigger Floral Sword Slash, for 6 to 10 seconds per use in a battle.
That breaks the 15 second timer. Instead of waiting out a cooldown for one burst, your buffed allies' attacks start proccing her bursts for you, which stacks the damage and the healing at the same time. It is the difference between a good unit and the version of her that people write tier list entries about.
It is also not mandatory. She functions without it, just on the natural 15 second rhythm, and if you are deciding where limited Crimebrand resources go, the Crimebrand guide covers how the system prices that choice. The honest read: she is worth building without her exclusive, and worth rebuilding when you get it.
The class label that misleads people
Coquelic is filed under Catalyst, and a lot of writing about Path to Nowhere, this site included until recently, describes Catalyst as the class that applies and detonates status effects. It is not. Catalyst is the support class, the one that provides buffs and debuffs and assists the team rather than carrying it.
Coquelic is the clearest proof of that, and so is Cabernet, the other S-rank Catalyst people get wrong in the same direction. If you built your team expecting a detonator and got a healer, the label is what fooled you, not the unit. The Sinner basics page and the class breakdown in the beginner's guide describe what the six classes actually do.
Who she goes with
She wants bodies near her, and she wants them to be worth buffing. In practice that means:
- An Endura in front of her, because her slash engine needs her alive in melee and Endura are the only Sinners who reliably hold a lane.
- Allies who attack often, not slow heavy hitters, if you are running River of Flowers. The proc reads off ally attacks, so attack speed is indirectly a Coquelic stat.
- No second dedicated healer, usually. Spending two slots on sustain when she already covers it is how teams end up short on damage.
For where she sits against the rest of the roster, the Path to Nowhere tier list has her placement and the team comps page has the full lineups. If you are still assembling a roster, the best Sinners guide is the better starting point, and the codes page is worth a minute first because the rewards fund the levelling.
What this guide does not claim
Two things are deliberately missing. Her exact Crimebrand stat priorities are not here, because the right answer depends on what else is in your team and the general rules in the Crimebrand guide serve you better than a made-up specific one. And her current tier placement shifts with the roster, so the tier list is the live answer rather than a number frozen into a guide.
Coquelic's profile, skill names, coefficients and the River of Flowers Crimebrand values above are read off the Path to Nowhere Wiki's Coquelic page, verified October 2, 2026. The class definitions are from GamingonPhone's Path to Nowhere beginner's guide, which describes Catalyst as the buff and debuff support class. Values given as a range span skill level 1 to maximum; where a number depends on team state, that condition is stated rather than averaged away.
