Path to Nowhere Guarantees an S-Rank at 80 Arrests, and Your Pity Does Not Carry Between Banner Types

The S-Rank rate is 2%, soft pity starts at 50 and lifts it to 2.84%, and the 80th arrest is a hard guarantee. The catch is that each arrest type tracks that counter separately, so splitting your pulls costs you more than you think.

The number that should change how you play is 80.

That is the hard guarantee: go 79 arrests without an S-Rank and the 80th gives you one. Everything else about Path to Nowhere's gacha flows from knowing that ceiling exists and knowing exactly where your counter sits under it.

The number that quietly costs people Sinners is this one: pity is tracked separately for each arrest type. Fifty pulls of progress on an Event Arrest buys you nothing on a Routine Arrest. Spread 60 arrests across three banner types and you have three counters in their twenties instead of one counter two thirds of the way to a guarantee.

The rates

RarityBase rate
S-Rank2%
A-Rank18%
B-Rank80%

Soft pity begins at 50. Once you have made 50 arrests without an S-Rank, the S-Rank rate climbs to 2.84%, with A-Rank moving to 21.58% and B-Rank down to 75.58%. It is a modest lift rather than the steep ramp some gachas use, which is why the hard guarantee matters more here than the soft one.

Pulling an S-Rank resets the counter and the rate drops back to 2%.

The 50/50, and why it is friendlier than most

Featured Sinners on Event, Limited and Routine arrests get boosted rates. If you pull an S-Rank and it is not the featured one, your next S-Rank is guaranteed to be the featured Sinner.

That is the familiar 50/50 shape, but read it against the 80 pull ceiling rather than against another game's. Your genuine worst case for a featured S-Rank is two full pity cycles, and you know the exact size of each one.

The five arrest types

This is the part worth memorising, because the type decides both what you can win and which counter you are feeding.

TypeWhat it is
EventRuns with a major story event. A new S-Rank, a new A-Rank and two existing A-Ranks, all rate-upped. The new Sinners join the permanent pool when it ends.
LimitedSame shape as Event, except the featured new S-Rank never joins the permanent pool.
RoutineBoosts one permanent S-Rank.
RegularThe standard banner, every permanent Sinner, no featured unit.
RookieBeginner bundle, discounted, with a guaranteed S-Rank inside the first 10. Expires after 20 arrests.

The distinction that costs real money is Event against Limited. An Event S-Rank you skip will be pullable later from the permanent pool. A Limited S-Rank you skip may never be offered again. If you are rationing, ration against Limited arrests, not Event ones.

New accounts should clear the Rookie Arrest before anything else. A guaranteed S-Rank inside ten pulls at a discount is the best rate in the game and it expires, so there is no reason to hold it.

What this means in practice

  1. Pick one banner and commit to it. Separate counters per type is the single rule that punishes hedging. Fifty wasted pulls spread thin is a guarantee you did not buy.
  2. Know your count before a banner ends. If you are at 60 on an Event Arrest and it closes in three days, the question is whether you can reach 80, not whether you feel lucky.
  3. Treat Limited as the real deadline. Event Sinners come back. Limited ones are not promised to.
  4. Finish the Rookie Arrest early. It expires at 20 arrests and its guarantee beats every other banner's.

The recent arrest record

The most recent window we could verify from the official @PathtoNowhereEN account was [Fated Pursuit], a Directional Arrest running 17 September to 8 October 2026 with S-Class Parfait and Korryn rate-upped alongside A-Class Nino and Lynn.

The current banner is an Angel Rhythm event arrest, running 8 October to 3 November 2026 beside the Heartbeats ON AIR! event. Its rate-up roster is not documented outside the game, so check the in-game arrest notice before you spend. We would rather tell you we do not know than guess a banner's units at you.

One more date worth having: the Epoch Overture Surveillance Order closes 26 October, a full week before the event and the arrest do. Pace your stamina against the earlier deadline.

Where your pulls should land

A guarantee is only worth what you spend it on. The Sinner tier list ranks the full roster by in-game Rank, the best Sinners guide covers who to build first and which free units carry an early account, and the team comps tier list covers the grids those Sinners actually slot into. If you are pulling for an endgame mode rather than for the story, Broken Frontline is the one that rewards burst, and free Dust and pull currency comes from the codes page.

Sources: the Path to Nowhere wiki's Arrests/Info page for the rates, the pity thresholds, the per-type tracking, the featured guarantee and the five arrest types, and its Arrests page for the banner history. One caveat stated plainly: the rates and pity page was last revised in February 2023. It is the only published breakdown of these numbers and it matches how the banners behave, but AISNO has not republished them since, so treat the thresholds as well-established rather than freshly confirmed.
