Langley's Pistol Hits One Enemy, and Her Passive Makes Every Shot Land on All of Them

Causality turns Langley from a single-target Reticle carry into the widest damage source in Path to Nowhere. The skill numbers, why her Exclusive Crimebrand is the whole build, and the two Shackles that matter.

Read Langley's basic attack and she looks ordinary. Immediate Execution fires her pistol for 113% of Attack at one enemy, rising to 203% at skill level 10. A competent single-target Reticle shot and nothing more.

Now read her first passive.

Intel

Causality. When dealing damage to enemies, Langley marks them with Causality. Then, when her own attack deals damage to an enemy, she deals 35% of her Attack as additional Physical Damage to all enemies marked with Causality.

That is the whole character. Every shot she fires hits her target for 113%, then hits every marked enemy on the field for another 35%. Mark four enemies and one trigger-pull is doing 113% plus 140% spread across the screen. At skill 10 the splash is 63% each, so the same shot is 203% plus 252%.

Her damage does not scale with her target. It scales with how many things are marked.

The Exclusive Crimebrand is not optional

Here is the catch, and it is the reason some players bounce off her. Causality marks enemies one at a time, as she damages them. Left alone she has to shoot four enemies individually before the splash is worth anything, by which point the wave is half over.

Traitor, her Exclusive Crimebrand, fixes exactly that:

When Langley casts Gunfire Edict, she inflicts a Causality mark on all enemies within Skill Range, and gets 10% Attack Speed bonus for 10 seconds.

One Ultimate, everything marked, and every subsequent bullet splashes to the whole pack. The attack speed bonus goes to 12.5% at level 2 and 15% at level 3, which matters more than it looks because her passive triggers per attack, not per second.

Most Sinners treat their Exclusive Crimebrand as an upgrade. Langley treats it as the ignition. If you are choosing where Phase 3 progression goes, she is near the front of the queue. The Crimebrand guide covers how the slots and sets work underneath this.

The skills, with the numbers

SkillTypeEffect
Immediate ExecutionBasic113% of Attack, single target. Lv10: 203%
Gunfire EdictUltimate5 shots, each 180% of Attack to an enemy in range. The first shot carries 1 Core Damage. Lv10: 324% per shot
CausalityPassive 1Damaged enemies get marked. Each of her attacks splashes 35% of Attack to every marked enemy. Lv10: 63%
Execution of FatePassive 2A marked enemy dying deals 200% of Attack to everything in that grid. Lv10: 360%
TraitorExclusive CrimebrandGunfire Edict marks every enemy in range, plus 10% Attack Speed for 10s. Lv3: 15%

Execution of Fate is the part people miss. Once the pack is marked, the first enemy to die detonates for 200% of her Attack onto the rest, which can chain: that detonation kills a second marked enemy, which detonates again. At skill 10 it is 360% a body. In a dense wave Langley does not clear it so much as set off a sequence.

One honest gap: the wiki does not publish cooldowns or Ultimate energy costs for her skills, and it describes both Gunfire Edict's range and Execution of Fate's "grid" without giving a size. Those numbers are not stated here because nobody has published them.

Shackles: two of the five do real work

StageNameEffect
1ConfidentialEnemies marked with Causality take 10% more damage
2Shackles Sync IPhysical Penetration +7.5%
3Sneak AttackA marked enemy dying gives Langley +10% Attack for 10 seconds
4Emotion ResonanceUltimate Energy Consumption reduced by 3
5Shackles Sync IIPhysical Penetration +7.5%

Stage 1 is a team buff. Marked enemies take 10% more damage from everything, not just from Langley, which quietly raises the whole squad's output in any comp where she marks first. For a Sinner whose tags already read "ATK Support", that is the line that earns it.

Stage 3 compounds with Execution of Fate. A marked enemy dies, the grid detonates, and Langley picks up 10% Attack for ten seconds, which raises the next detonation. Stages 1 and 3 are the two worth pushing to.

Stage 4 is a convenience rather than a power spike. Stages 2 and 5 are flat penetration, which pairs with her Mania Intensify (Direct Hit): Physical Penetration increased by 15%. All of her damage is Physical, so penetration never does nothing.

Stat line, and what it tells you

At level 90 Langley sits at 3,628 HP, 670 Attack, 231 Defense, 253 MRes, Block 1, Speed 0.75.

That is the highest Attack and nearly the lowest durability you will see on an S-Rank. She is Block 1, so she will stop exactly one enemy and then die to it. Langley belongs behind a front line, always, and the comp is built accordingly: our Reticle control team runs her with Chelsea as a second Reticle source and Crache and Che pinning enemies in place, which is also the setup that keeps the pack inside one Causality cluster.

Building her, in order

  1. Skill levels on Causality before anything else. It goes 35% to 63%, and it fires on every attack against every marked enemy. Nothing else in her kit multiplies like that.
  2. Then Execution of Fate. 200% to 360% per dying marked enemy, in a kit that is designed to kill several at once.
  3. Phase 3 for Traitor, which converts her from a single-target shooter into the AoE engine the passives describe.
  4. Shackles 1 and 3, in that order.
  5. Gunfire Edict last. Five shots of 180% is respectable, but on this Sinner the Ultimate's real job is applying marks, not dealing the damage.

If you are still deciding whether she is where your Dust should go, the best Sinners guide covers the roster-wide priority and the arrest rates and pity guide covers what pulling for her actually costs. For where she ends up being used, Broken Frontline rewards exactly the fast, wide clears her kit produces.

Cooldowns, Ultimate energy cost and the numeric size of her skill range and grid are not published there and are not guessed at here.
