Most players treat the Serenitea Pot as a decorating toy and leave 90% of its value on the table. It is actually one of the few systems in Genshin that pays you back forever: a well-run teapot hands you free Primogems, a steady Mora drip, character friendship, and crafting materials you would otherwise grind for. Set it up once, spend three minutes a week, and it keeps earning.
Here is how to unlock it, level the two stats that matter, and get it printing.
Unlocking the teapot
You need Adventure Rank 35 and a completed Archon Quest up through the start of Liyue's later chapters. Once you qualify, Katheryne at the Liyue Harbor Adventurers' Guild sends you the world quest "A Teapot to Call Home." Finish it and you receive the Serenitea Pot gadget plus your first realm layout and your housekeeper, Tubby, a talking teapot spirit who runs the shop.
From that point the Pot lives in your gadget wheel. Drop it anywhere in the open world (not in domains, cities, or during combat) and step inside.
The two numbers that actually matter
Everything valuable in the Pot is gated by two stats. Get these right and the decorating is optional.

Trust Rank goes up to 10. You raise it purely by crafting a furnishing you have never made before, so the fastest route is to buy cheap blueprints from Tubby, craft one of each with wood and other mats, and place them. You do not need to keep them displayed after the Trust is banked.
Adeptal Energy tiers
Adeptal Energy is your realm's ambient score. The more (and better) furniture you place, the higher it climbs, and each threshold bumps your Realm Currency income and your comfort tier name.

The single biggest jump most players are missing: furnishing sets. Placing all the pieces of a matched set (a full tea-house, a full courtyard) grants a large Adeptal Energy bonus on top of the individual items, and completed sets are the cheapest way to vault from Cozy into Stately.
Realm Currency: your teapot's paycheck
Realm Currency accrues passively while the Pot exists in your world, at the hourly rate set by your Adeptal Energy tier. It caps out (Trust Rank 10 pushes the ceiling to 2400), so the rhythm is simple: log in, collect from Tubby, let it refill.
Spend Realm Currency on the things that make the Pot pay for itself:
- Blueprints for furnishings and, more importantly, furnishing sets that raise Adeptal Energy.
- Mora, exchanged weekly through Tubby's "Traveling Salesman" stock. This is one of the better passive Mora sources in the game and it stacks with your other income.
- Weekly furnishing blueprint rotations and crafting materials like Fine Enhancement Ore.
Do not hoard it. Realm Currency stops accruing the moment you hit the cap, so a full teapot is wasted income. Empty it every visit.
Companions: friendship and free favors
Once your realm is comfortable enough, you can invite up to eight characters to live in it (the cap scales with Adeptal Energy tier). Two things happen when they move in:
- Passive friendship. Characters gain Companionship EXP just by living in the Pot, roughly one point per hour, capped weekly. It is slow, but it is free progress toward the namecards and voice lines friendship unlocks, and it ticks even for units you never field.
- Gift rewards. Talk to a resident and, at higher friendship gift tiers, they hand over Primogems and materials the first time you reach certain thresholds. One-time, but it adds up across a full roster.
Move in the characters you are not actively building. Your main DPS earns friendship in combat anyway, so the Pot is best used to quietly level the shelf-sitters.
The three-minute weekly routine
Here is the whole maintenance loop once you are set up:
- Collect Realm Currency from Tubby so it starts refilling.
- Buy the weekly Mora and any blueprint you are missing from the Traveling Salesman.
- Claim gift rewards from any newly-eligible companions.
- Rotate residents occasionally so different low-friendship characters get the passive EXP.
That is it. No decorating skill required. If you want to decorate, the creative tools (Custom Furnishings, Gardening for material farming, and the Trust Rank blueprint unlocks) are deep enough to sink hours into, but none of it is mandatory to bank the rewards.
Where the Pot fits your account
The Serenitea Pot is a compounding, low-effort income stream, which makes it a natural companion to the parts of the game that cost you resources. The Realm Currency Mora feeds your artifact and talent leveling, the passive friendship quietly clears your roster's affinity, and the Primogem gifts trickle into your wish economy. None of it is flashy. All of it is free.
