Satisfactory Server Setup Guide
Complete guide to hosting your own Satisfactory dedicated server for multiplayer factory building.
Running Your Own Satisfactory Server
Satisfactory is the ultimate factory-building experience, and a dedicated server means your factory runs 24/7—even when you're offline.
Why a Dedicated Server?
Unlike client-hosted sessions:
- 24/7 Uptime: Factory keeps producing while you sleep
- No Host Dependency: Friends can play anytime
- Better Performance: Dedicated resources for the world
- Larger Factories: Handle more machines and entities
Satisfactory Server Plans
| Plan | RAM | Storage | Price | Players |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 8 GB | 20 GB | $9.99/mo | 1-4 |
| Standard | 16 GB | 40 GB | $17.99/mo | 4-8 |
| Performance | 32 GB | 80 GB | $29.99/mo | 8+ |
Note: Satisfactory becomes more demanding as your factory grows. Start with 8GB, upgrade if needed.

Performance Optimization
Factory Size Impact
| Factory Size | RAM Needed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Early game | 8 GB | Basic automation |
| Mid game | 16 GB | Multiple factories |
| Late game/Mega | 32 GB | Thousands of machines |
Tips for Large Factories
- Use conveyor belts efficiently - Fewer lifts = better performance
- Limit vehicles - Trains are more efficient
- Optimize power - Overloaded grids cause lag
- Spread factories - Don't cluster everything
Multiplayer Tips
Player Limits
Satisfactory officially supports 4 players, but dedicated servers can handle more. Performance depends on factory complexity.
Lag Reduction
- Host on servers geographically close to players
- Avoid massive factories in early game
- Use HostedGG's NVMe SSDs for faster loading
Automatic Backups
Protect your hours of work:
- HostedGG automatically backs up every 6 hours
- Create manual backups before experiments
- Download backups to your PC periodically
Access backups in the Backups tab.
Troubleshooting
Can't Find Server
- Verify IP and port are correct
- Check server is running (green status)
- Ensure firewall isn't blocking
Disconnections
- Check network stability
- Server may need more RAM for large factories
- Verify server isn't restarting
Save Won't Load
- Ensure save matches server/game version
- Check save file isn't corrupted
- Try an earlier backup
