The Short Answer
Cartethyia is a top-tier T0 Aero hypercarry whose entire damage loop pivots on one number: Aero Erosion stacks. Her Resonance Liberation consumes up to five stacks from enemies and converts each one into a massive burst multiplier. Build her around HP scaling, the Windward Pilgrimage echo set with a 44111 cost layout, and pair her with teammates who stack and extend those Erosion charges. Done correctly, her Liberation hits harder than almost anything else in the current meta.

Who Is Cartethyia
Cartethyia is a 5-star Aero Resonator who wields a Sword and shifts between two combat forms: her default knight form and Fleurdelys, the Blessed Maiden. Her kit is built entirely around HP scaling rather than ATK, which changes echo and weapon priorities compared to most Sword users. She is a Main DPS who stays on field, cycling through her rotation to rebuild Erosion stacks and detonate them with Liberation on cooldown.
She debuted in Version 2.4 and received a rerun during the Version 3.4 Edgerunners crossover patch.
Best Weapon

Because Cartethyia scales off HP and not ATK, standard high-ATK Swords are noticeably weaker than usual. Do not borrow a generic DPS Sword and expect competitive results.
Best Echoes
Echo Set: Windward Pilgrimage (full 4-piece Aero set)
Windward Pilgrimage is purpose-made for Aero Resonators and is the clear best-in-slot. The 4-piece bonus amplifies Aero DMG, which is the only damage type Cartethyia deals.
Main 4-Cost Echo: Reminiscence: Fleurdelys
This echo is exclusive to Cartethyia and Rover (Aero). It provides a 20% Aero DMG Bonus on top of the set bonus, making it mandatory. If you cannot roll this echo, you are leaving substantial damage on the table.
Echo Cost Configuration: 44111
This is the critical difference in Cartethyia's build versus most other carries. Because her kit does not scale with ATK, she cannot benefit from the typical 43311 setup that sacrifices a 4-cost echo slot for an ATK-boosting 3-cost pick. Instead, she runs two 4-cost echoes and three 1-cost echoes, squeezing out maximum Echo set resonance from her main stat choices.
Substat Priority:
- HP%
- CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG (aim for a roughly 1:2 ratio)
- Aero DMG% from secondary echo stats where available
Best Team Compositions
Cartethyia's Liberation removes all Aero Erosion stacks from enemies in a single hit, dealing bonus damage for each stack consumed (capped at 5). Your teammates must apply those stacks reliably before her Liberation lands.
Core Team: Cartethyia, Ciaccona, Chisa or Aero Rover

Ciaccona is the priority pick to fill the applicator slot. Her off-field Aero application is reliable and does not need Cartethyia off field to work, which protects Liberation timing.
Chisa or Aero Rover extends the stack cap, meaning your Liberation can hit with more than 5 stacks if you have the time to build them. This is a meaningful DPS increase in longer boss fights.
Sustain Flex: Swap in a healer or shielder in the third slot when survivability is a concern, particularly in Tower of Adversity floors with punishing damage.
Skill Priority
- Resonance Liberation (highest priority): the payoff skill and your biggest damage moment.
- Resonance Skill: builds stacks and maintains the rotation between Liberations.
- Forte Circuit: synergizes with her dual-form mechanic and adds consistent damage in the rotation.
- Basic Attack and Intro: lower priority for investment, useful for filler and generating energy.
Rotation Basics
The core loop is: enter in Fleurdelys form when possible, use Resonance Skills to maintain form and generate energy, ensure Ciaccona has applied Erosion stacks, then land the Liberation to consume all stacks before they fall off. The 5-stack timing window is generous enough that you do not need to be frame-perfect, but avoid starting Liberation if stacks are still being applied.
Should You Pull Cartethyia
Cartethyia sits at T0 in the current meta and performs well in both single-target and multi-target content. She is one of the strongest Aero options in the game. If you are building an Aero-focused account or want a hypercarry who hits one devastating button, she is worth pulling.
