Honkai: Star Rail Trailblaze Power Guide: Where to Spend Your Stamina First

Trailblaze Power caps at 300 and then quietly stops counting. This is what every stamina sink costs, how Reserved Trailblaze Power banks up to 2,400 more while you are offline, and a spending order that keeps your relics, traces, and light cones all moving instead of one at a time.

Table of Contents

Trailblaze Power is the throttle on your whole account. Wishes decide who you own; TP decides how fast they stop being dead weight. And the fastest way to slow yourself down is to let it sit at 300 doing nothing, or to dump 240 a day into one domain while three other bottlenecks starve.

The good news is Star Rail is unusually forgiving about overflow, because it banks your excess for you. Learn the caps, learn the costs, and pick the right sink, and you never lose a point again.

The two pools: active and reserved

Your visible Trailblaze Power caps at 300 and refills 1 every 6 minutes, which is 240 a day from empty. Nothing new there. The part players miss is what happens next.

The moment your active TP hits 300, Reserved Trailblaze Power starts filling instead. It regenerates slower, 1 every 18 minutes, up to a huge 2,400 cap, and it does not evaporate. Whenever you want, you withdraw from it back into your active pool, up to 300 at a time at a 1-to-1 rate. In practice that means a busy week away from the game costs you almost nothing: the overflow you would have lost in other gacha is sitting in the bank waiting. You still want to spend it eventually, since Reserved TP also has a ceiling, but it turns "I missed a day" from a real loss into a shrug.

What each stamina sink costs

Everything you spend TP on falls into a handful of nodes. Memorize the costs and the beginner habit of farming whatever is closest disappears.

NodeTP costWhat it gives
Calyx (Golden)10Character and light cone EXP, Credits
Calyx (Crimson)10Trace upgrade materials
Stagnant Shadow30Character ascension mats and Trace boss drops
Cavern of Corrosion40Relics (your endgame time sink)
Echo of War30, first 3 clears each week give bonus lootWeekly boss mats, light cone upgrade materials

Two things do not cost Trailblaze Power at all: Simulated Universe and Divergent Universe. Clear those on their own schedule for Herta Store points, Pass rewards, and Path Resonances, and never think of them as competing for stamina.

The spending order that actually works

Read the table as a priority, not a menu. Point your TP at the one thing your account is shortest on this week and ignore the rest until it is fixed.

  1. Weekly Echo of War first, every week. Those first three discounted-loot clears gate light cone materials and weekly-exclusive drops with no catch-up. Miss the week and it is gone. Do them before anything else.
  2. Ascension and traces for the character you are building now. Stagnant Shadow for ascension gems and Calyx Crimson for trace mats. A character at level cap with maxed traces is worth more than three half-built ones.
  3. Relics, forever, once your team functions. Cavern of Corrosion is the black hole that eats stamina for months because relic substats are random. This is where most of your long-term TP goes, and it should only start in earnest once your carries are leveled and traced.
  4. Credits and EXP only when you are actually short. Golden Calyx is cheap but it is a top-up, not a daily habit. Farm it when a project stalls on Credits, not out of reflex.

For exactly which relic sets and stats each character wants before you commit weeks to a domain, keep the relics and light cones guide open, and check the tier list so you are farming for a unit worth the investment.

Fuel, Jade, and when a refill is worth it

Two ways to buy more TP exist, and both should be rationed. Fuel restores 60 TP each and comes from Simulated Universe, Nameless Honor, and the shop. Stellar Jade refills also give 60 TP, but the price climbs each time in a day (starting at 50 Jade and rising) and caps at 8 refills per day, which is a fast way to torch pull currency.

The rule: never spend Jade on TP for routine farming. Save Fuel and, if you must, Jade refills for the two moments they pay off. One, a double-rewards event is live and every point of stamina buys twice the mats. Two, you are one or two ascension runs short of finishing a character right before you need them for endgame or a new banner. Outside those windows, a refill is value you burned out of impatience.

A rhythm that never wastes a point

  • Daily: claim Trailblaze Power from Nameless Honor and mail, grab live redeem codes, spend your active pool on this week's bottleneck, and if you will be offline a while, run it toward zero so it refills instead of capping.
  • Weekly: clear your three Echo of War runs early, finish your Simulated or Divergent Universe points, and reassess whether an upcoming banner means shifting to a new character's ascension mats a few days ahead.
  • Reserved check: if your Reserved TP is climbing toward 2,400, withdraw and spend, because even the bank has a ceiling.

Get the active pool emptying once a day and your spends aimed at one real bottleneck, and Trailblaze Power stops feeling like a leash. It becomes the steady current that turns a fresh five-star into a finished carry. New here, or rebuilding after a break? The beginner guide and best characters guide sort out who deserves your stamina first, and the endgame guide shows what all that farming is building toward.
