Multiplayer Settings
Guild System
Palworld uses a guild system for multiplayer:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Max Guild Members | Maximum players per guild (default: 20) |
| Guild Auto Accept | Auto-accept join requests |
Guilds share bases, Pals assigned to bases, and resource access. Each player can belong to one guild.
Player Limits
| Plan | Max Players | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|
| Starter (8 GB) | 4 | Solo/duo with friends |
| Standard (16 GB) | 16 | Guild play |
| Performance (32 GB) | 32 | Full server, multiple guilds |
PvP Settings
If you want player-vs-player combat:
- Enable Allow PvP in server settings
- Configure PvP Damage Multiplier for balance
- Set PvP Rules (can players damage bases?)
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
"Server Not Found"
- Verify the server is running in your HostedGG dashboard
- Check that the IP and port are correct
- Ensure the server is set to Public if using the browser
- Wait 2-3 minutes after server start for it to appear in listings
"Connection Timed Out"
- The server may be restarting (check dashboard status)
- The server may have run out of memory — check RAM usage and restart if needed
- Try connecting via direct IP instead of the browser
"Version Mismatch"
- Ensure your game client is updated to the latest version
- The server updates automatically; a client update may be needed
- Restart the server after a game update to ensure it picks up the new version
Xbox/PS5 Can't Find Server
- Verify crossplay is enabled in server startup settings
- Make sure the server is set to Public
- Restart the server after changing crossplay settings
- Check that the server is online in the HostedGG dashboard
Performance Tips for Multiplayer
- Schedule regular restarts (every 4-6 hours) to manage memory leaks
- Monitor RAM usage in the dashboard — restart if it exceeds plan limits
- Limit base count per player if performance drops with many bases
- Reduce Pal spawn rates if the server is struggling with many entities
