Wuthering Waves 3.6 Release Date: The Road Into Mengzhou, Qingxiao, and Jingran

Version 3.6 is the patch that finally pushes Rovers past the Xbox launch dust and into Mengzhou, the new region teased since 3.5. Two new Resonators headline it, the exploration map opens up again, and the banner order is starting to make sense. Here is the release window and everything worth planning around.

Version 3.5 was the housekeeping patch: Xbox launch, crossplay finally sorted, Xuanling on banner. Version 3.6 is where the story starts moving again. It opens Mengzhou, the region Kuro has been foreshadowing since the 3.5 map teasers, and it brings two new Resonators, Qingxiao and Jingran, to carry the new arc. If you have been coasting on a 3.5 account waiting for a reason to grind, this is it.

We broke down the kit teasers in our 3.6 preview. This piece is the practical version: when it lands, what the patch actually contains, and how to line up your Astrite before the banners open.

When 3.6 goes live

Wuthering Waves has settled into a roughly six-week patch cadence, and 3.5 launched on July 10 alongside the Xbox rollout (see our Xbox crossplay guide if you jumped in there). That puts 3.6 in the second half of August, with the usual preview livestream and redemption codes dropping about a week ahead of launch.

Kuro locks the exact date and the livestream codes in that preview stream, so the smart move right now is not to circle a day on the calendar, it is to be ready for one. That means finishing your current battle pass, spending down anything that caps, and banking pulls.

What is in the patch

Mengzhou is the anchor, and a new region in Wuthering Waves is never just a reskin. Expect the pattern the game has held to since Rinascita:

  • A new open area with its own exploration puzzles, collectibles, and traversal beats, which means a fresh batch of Astrite just for clearing the map.
  • Two new Resonators, Qingxiao and Jingran, headlining the two banner phases.
  • A new Echo set or two tuned around the incoming carries, plus the usual weapon banners. When the sets are confirmed, we will fold them into the Echo guide.
  • Event modes and login rewards that hand out a chunk of the patch's free pull currency.

The exploration Astrite is the part free-to-play accounts should not sleep on. Fully clearing a new region is frequently worth a meaningful slice of a 10-pull, and it never expires the way an event does.

The banner question: Qingxiao or Jingran?

Two new units in one patch always forces a choice for accounts that cannot pull both. The honest answer this early: do not commit until the kits are final. Preview-stage numbers move, and Wuthering Waves has a habit of shipping a support that quietly outvalues the flashier DPS next to it.

What you can do now is decide by role, not by trailer. If your account is short on a hard-carry DPS, that is your slot. If you already have a stacked damage core and thin support, the answer flips. Pull the Resonator your team is actually missing, and let the best team comps guide and the 3.6 tier list settle the specifics once kits lock.

One rule that always holds in Wuthering Waves: the signature weapon is often the bigger power spike than the character's constellations. Budget for that when you plan your pulls.

Your pre-3.6 checklist

Do these before the version flips over and you will start 3.6 with room to breathe:

  1. Bank at least 80 pulls if you intend to guarantee one of the new Resonators, more if you want the weapon too.
  2. Spend anything that caps on the current patch: Waveplate, battle pass levels, expiring event currency.
  3. Grab the 3.5 codes you have not redeemed yet from the codes page before they rotate out.
  4. Refresh on the fundamentals if you have drifted: the beginner's guide covers the progression systems that make new Resonators actually hit.

Mengzhou is the reason to come back if you drifted after the Xbox launch. New region, new carries, a fresh Astrite haul just for exploring. The date is the last thing to firm up, and when it does, we will have it here.
