Just when you thought you had collected every Pal in the archipelago, Palworld is ready to take over your tabletop. Pocketpair has officially announced the Palworld Official Card Game, a competitive trading card game (TCG) set to release worldwide this summer.

Announced during the Bushiroad New Year Grand Presentation 2026, this new project aims to translate the chaotic, survival-crafting loop of the video game into a strategic two-player card battler.

Release Date and Details

The Palworld Official Card Game is scheduled for a worldwide release on July 30, 2026.

The game is being developed in collaboration with Bushiroad, the powerhouse behind TCG giants like Cardfight!! Vanguard and Weiss Schwarz. This partnership suggests a polished, deep mechanical system rather than a quick cash-grab tie-in.

At launch, the game will be available in three languages:

  • English
  • Japanese
  • Simplified Chinese

Gameplay: Base Building Meets Card Battling

According to the announcement, the TCG won't just be about smashing monsters together. It aims to faithfully recreate the core systems of Palworld.

Players will need to:

  1. Build Bases: Just like in the game, managing your base will be crucial.
  2. Manage Resources: You can't just summon high-level Pals without the infrastructure to support them.
  3. Deploy Pals: Each Pal card will have unique traits, likely mirroring their in-game work suitabilities and combat stats.

The concept of "fighting alongside your Pal companions" implies that the player avatar (the Tamer) might also have a presence on the board, possibly equipping weapons or giving commands.

Where to Play It First

If you can't wait until July, the game will be playable specifically at the Card Game Festival 2026 in Tokyo, taking place on May 3rd and 4th. Attendees will get the first hands-on experience with the starter decks and mechanics.

A Growing Franchise

This move signals Pocketpair's intent to turn Palworld into a lasting multimedia franchise. With the video game stabilizing into a respected survival RPG and now a physical TCG on the horizon, the IP shows no signs of slowing down.

Whether you're a competitive card player or just want a physical Grizzbolt to display on your shelf, keep an eye out for starter decks dropping this summer.
